Focals and Organics

With the weather not being very nice, it has been hard to stir myself out to the studio. I have however being making some more of my Ocean focals and some organic silver glass beads
These lovely organic Ivory and pink silver glass beads are now sold, but there are some similar only blue on ebay at the moment http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110651245766&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT

I love making my focal beads, they are so interesting with silver, shells, mesh and anything else I can put into the bead. They take 2 to 3 hours each to make and then need to anneal for at least six hours.

Cabochon Set

I have been in the studio trying to get my ceramics ready for the spring shows, but seem to always find something other to do.
I had made some Cabochons out of lampwork glass, although balancing glass on the end of a mandrell, filled me with dread it was good for my tummy muscles? Holding your breath and tummy in, until the bead was finished.
Really enjoyed the end result, so sent them off to "by george" who is a vey talented lady in silver work.
I told her I would like a ring out of one and a fibula with the other. Setting the cab into a silver setting and then soldering it to the fibula. She kindley set the third into a pendant, here is a picture of the finshed pieces.

Think I maybe making some more of these in the near future.
I have put some beads on sale on Ebay and I am also selling a lot of my Ceramic moulds.
Well best I go out to the studio and do those jobs that need to be done !!

New Beads

I have been out in the studio now it is warmer, so here are a few new beads. First is a set of lovely turquoise ocean beads with matching spacers. They take an age to make, with murinis , mesh and loads of different glass to give that effect of looking into the deep waters of the ocean.
The next set is a set of silver reactive glass with five matching spacers.

Both of these sets will be for sale, but for the moment I am just enjoying looking at them.

Happy New Year !!

Well a very happy new year to all my customers old and new. Christmas was a quiet one, just my husband the dog and me, so full of Christmas delights and loads of chocolates. Promise I will start healthy eating, next week. I will be putting the shows that I will be attending for 2011 on my website in the next few weeks.
I will also be putting items on Ebay and Etsy in the coming weeks.
This is a focal called Weymouth sands, which has little shells, silver fishing net and silver and gold reflection in the watery glass. It measures one quarter inches long by approx one inch at it's wides point, finished with silver findings and a black cord. It also comes with a signed authorization card with name and date it was made and signed by me. It is one of many of the unique Focals that I make.
